How To Brew Green Tea
Next up we can see how to brew a good cup of Green tea. As with Oolong tea you will need fresh spring water to get the maximum taste from your tea. You will need to make sure that the water you're using is not at boiling point; instead it needs to be slightly below the boiling point for the subtle flavors of the green tea to emerge. If you prefer, before you start making the green tea you can warm the tea pot by pouring some boiling water inside. When you are ready to begin brewing tea and just before you place the green tea in the pot you will need to discard this of water.
-
Step 1
Just before your water nears boiling point - or as it is cooling slightly - you should fill the tea pot ¼ full with green tea leaves.
-
Step 2
When your water has reached the right temperature, pour it over tea leaves and leave the tea to steep.
-
Step 3
Allow the brewing green tea to steep only for 2 to 3 minutes at the most, no more. If you leave the tea to steep for any longer you will have a bitter tasting brew that will most likely not be pleasant to drink.
-
Step 4
Before serving you will need to strain the tea to remove all trace of the tea leaves from the brewing tea. This infusion of green tea leaves can then be poured into the waiting cups.
Although Green tea is generally taken alone without any added flavorings not everyone will appreciate drinking it in this manner. In fact some people like to add a touch of sugar, or honey, or even a small slice of lemon to their tea to give it added taste.
In general you can use one serving of green tea for multiple brewing tea sessions but you will need to look at the color of the tea whilst you are brewing tea to make sure that your infused tea is not becoming darker and thus bitter.
